I drive electric because they are more fun to drive and don't require much maintenance. I bought a Chevy Bolt in 2017. Loved it until the recall/battery issues. Sold it back to Chevy and bought a Tesla with a sixty-day wait. I bought a Tesla because I was actually available -- unlike all the competitors that were threatening to build something I could actually buy but didn't have it ready for delivery yet. I am old. I can't wait forever for these other companies, or I'll be dead. I haven't had any quality problems with the Tesla, while the new cars being pushed out are experiencing troubles one would expect from a new guy in the business. It may be that in practice, producing electric cars is easier to talk about than to do. Tesla, at least, is doing it.
